BOOK 2
"Emergency Rescue"
Fresh from his dealing with international drug smuggler and oil pirate Ho Sin, Lundyn is caught up in a terrorist plot to hold Australia to ransom. By stretching emergency rescue units through out the country to their absolute limits a unit of the extreme left wing of Osama Bin Ladin’s terrorist organisation al-Qaeda stage a carefully controlled attack on four major fronts. Bush fires, marine pollution, water quality sabotage and sonar attacks on marine mammals.
With emergency services stretched and the armed forces being used to their limits there is only one man (and his offsiders) who can deal the direct blow to cut off the head of this vicious Hydra.
The dirigible “Eye In The Sky” makes its first appearance in a Lundyn Parker adventure and along with a new heroine, all his favourite toys and his thirst for revenge Lundyn sets of to save the day.
Lundyn Parker was at four thousand metres above sea level. The drab landscape of the inland was scored along its edge by a grey wet sand beach that in turn led to a emerald blue bay. Dark shadows moved through the water and from his vantage point Lundyn could see that they showed a hammerhead shark was schooling fish and feeding. Seabirds attracted by the activity were swarming both in the air and diving amongst the tightly packed school that the shark was grazing on.
Lundyn’s on board digital SLR camera was ready and he shot off a dozen scenes and reviewing them smiled to himself as he thought what fun it was going to be editing this lot. He could have descended and taken closer shots but his current editing program would tweak the shots enough to give him a good snap shot.
In another twenty minutes he left the coast leaving a landscape of dark olive green mangroves, twisted creeks and lagoons to a dull brown and blue spinifex covered plain. He was heading across the top of Queensland at the very tip of Australia to investigate a yacht sinking for an insurance company. He was returning from Singapore where he and two friends had been responsible for creating mayhem amongst a gang of international smugglers and pirates. Involuntarily as he thought back on Thailand and his parting with Karen and his mate Roscoe he smoothed his hand down the front of his jeans as he felt a slow stirring in his loins.
“Damn,” he said to himself, “she was a great sort. Great kahunnas as well.” He idly stroked some more then grinning inwardly he reprimanded himself and turned his concentration back to his flying.
