.“Hang on guys, I’ll be with you as soon as I finish the landing check” called out Lundyn.
“Sorry mate, you going to have to stay. We are going to need the plane fully operational when we finish the strike. She is no good to us full of bullet holes.” The General looked at Lundyn and shrugged, “you are the pilot. Cover the holes with gaffer tape and we will signal you when we want to be picked up.”
Without showing it Lundyn felt his shoulders sag. He was in fact the boss of this outfit but the General was the tactician. The best available. He was right. No body else could fly the plane and as he had built it nobody else knew what other problems could have occurred with the bullet holes. “Ah shit leave some for me will you?” He pulled off his helmet and glasses and started to forage for the tool box.
